Welcome

Feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you?

What you’re going through may be an understandable response to your life experience, including loss, change and earlier patterns.

Therapy can help you understand yourself more deeply, ease emotional suffering and support meaningful change.

Attachment wounds • Anxiety • Trauma • Relationships • Identity

Your goal might be around specific things that you want to understand, be able to do, change or accept - or it might be a more general commitment to growth.

If you would like to explore whether therapy might be helpful, I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation.

How I Work

Sessions are collaborative and paced according to what feels manageable and safe.

Therapy is tailored to your needs and can range from an open exploration to a targeted approach.

We can have a time limited number of sessions or a relationship spanning several years.

We will work with what you bring, exploring how past experience may be influencing present patterns. My focus is on careful attunement to you and your individual needs.

My approach recognises that our current way of being is shaped not only by our history, thoughts and feelings, but also by how experience is held in the body.

Alongside talking therapy, I bring embodied awareness into the work, supporting you to notice how physical sensations, posture and patterns of tension can deepen self-understanding and support change.

Sessions are predominantly talking-based. Where appropriate I may suggest body-focused awareness exercises. Many clients find this integrative approach allows them to access experiences that have remained out of reach in purely verbal therapy.

We notice not only to what is said, but also to how your difficulties and strengths are experienced physically in the present moment. This can be particularly helpful for clients who feel they have “talked about things before” but still struggle to shift long-held patterns.

We will work with what is already working for you - and how that can be developed, enhanced and maintained.

Sessions are 60 minutes.

The fee is £70 per session.

I have some concessionary slots so please ask if this applies to you.

In person sessions are in YO19.

For online sessions I will send a Zoom link prior to the session. You will need to be somewhere comfortable and undisturbed to benefit from the session.

If you would like to explore whether therapy might be helpful, I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation.

About me

I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) offering in-person psychotherapy in York (YO19) and online across the UK and in Jersey.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and am currently undertaking a six-year UKCP accredited (UK Council for Psychotherapy) training in Body (Somatic) Psychotherapy at the Cambridge Body Psychotherapy Centre. I took this path as I believe that some people need something more than talking to really fully reclaim their full abilities to experience the whole of themselves and feel fully alive.

Registration with a professional body means I meet certain standards of training and practice. I followed an ethical code and have regular 'supervision' - a meeting to discuss my work - with another senior practitioner to ensure the therapy you receive is of a high quality.

Research consistently shows that the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change. I aim to offer a warm, boundaried and secure environment where you can bring your thoughts, feelings and bodily experience at a pace that feels manageable.

My previous career was in environmental protection and then a senior policy role.

I bring both my professional training and lived understanding of trauma, loss, recovery and caring responsibilities to serve your growth and recovery. I have built strong therapeutic relationships with people living with autism and ADHD. I have a deep understanding of a number of 12 Step recovery programmers including AA, OA, Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families and Al Anon.
